I'm not a fan of excuses but I will say that my current laptop from 2006
does not work as fast or as well as my desktop did before the crash.
Also this update is a two page spread, so it still would have taken twice as long in
any case. However, I would like to post some of the progress.
I wanted the "central" Imp village to be a massive gathering place, something with scale. There were concepts for different types of communes and structures made out of various types of foliage, but the grand gathering of the oldest and tallest trees was the end result.
I didn't want a man-made looking structure assembled out of vines and trees since these creatures are just NOW adapting to one being on the planet, and I also didn't want to make it mushroom huts, sawn tree houses, or just one big "home tree" (see: Peter Jackson's 'Avatar'). Their society is similar in social structure to chimps/apes but with an oligarchy-like council and written language, so they hide in the tallest trees and split their resources/abilities.
The base colors start off as more green, but there are plans to appeal to a myriad of colors. This is the home of different seasonal Imps on an alien planet. I'm happy with the perspective on the trees, and the vines are not finished at all, but a little thickening for closer ones can solve that easily.
There's a great deal of detail to be added and some major tweaks and refining to do on the outlines/positioning of the characters, but it's a good start and hopefully one more week until I can be back up to standard updates and a release for the second chapter.
Thanks for checking in.

Concept Thursday: Thursday Harder
With the last (almost) year of Asteroider original files lost to time and space we carry forward knowing fond memories... and that backing up files is important unless you have LOTS OF MONEY!
I'll still finish the last two pages and a digital book version with the web quality pages, but a book isn't complete without concepts. So here's what I've been thinking:
This is a redesigned version of the Asteroider organization logo. Much more retro and official looking which emphasis on the Gold and Red color palette. I've never fully conceived their base of operations in the organization, but this logo gives me an idea of more high arching ceilings, gold trimmed frames and dark red tapestries. Maybe a more "Rocket age" vibe to older stations and bare bone bases. But now I'm just thinking out-loud and that's embarrasing.
The Fall Lizard is basically a HUGE monitor lizard made out of leaves. Less lizard and more like a sort of Leaf Golem. The Spring Imps in this location are very docile (maybe because it's a learning circle for children), and this space is more borrowed considering the forest is in the domain of the Fall Imps.
The different seasons all still have a more basic outline and less defined style. Each season has a different skill set, fall and spring's are less obvious in their design but will become more apparent as the story goes on. The only reason our current Spring Imps look so different is because they've been interacting with the new visitor. With time we can assume the same will happen with the other three types as they encounter the new technologies and events that she brings into the world. She may even take on more attributes of the other three Imp clans.
The Imps are not the only ones to be affected from this visit and with more members of the Asteroider team arriving, there's no way of telling how this planet will react to their presence and actions.

Hard-Drive Lost - New Logos Found
This week's update is late for two reasons.
- It's a spread page, so it's technically two pages. The finish page should get posted next week.
- My computer's hard drive is down and THAT is where everything exists. So I can't even post my progress to show you fine people.
That being said, I've been bringing back a few logos for redesign. Expect a higher quality of Lunar Lager products coming soon.
Flat (Social and Branding)

While these images were luckily saved on an external source before the crash it may take a while for more updates. Keep checking on Thursdays and follow me on twitter @krontars for more updates and info.
Thank you all for checking out my work and keeping me motivated to do this.
